Yodobashi Camera Multimedia Ikebukuro is the chain's newest Tokyo megastore, opened June 2026 on the east side of Ikebukuro station and connected straight to the JR east exit. It is an electronics department store first, about 33,000 square metres of it, and the reason it earns a diecast listing is that Yodobashi's hobby floors are where Tokyo buys current release minicars at retail with points, and this is the first Ikebukuro branch to have one.
The hobby offer sits on the upper floors: toys, hobby, games and instruments are listed on 5F, and opening coverage describes a dedicated hobby store on 7F, with gaming and sports on 6F and restaurants on 8F. Check the floor guide at the entrance for where the minicar shelves landed, because the two published guides differ. Expect new release chain stock rather than a curated collector shop: this is where to pick up the current lines, not to hunt the discontinued ones.
The practical case is the location. Nine thirty in the morning to ten at night, every day, at one of the busiest stations in the city, with a click and collect counter on the ground floor that runs from 6am to 11:30pm for anything ordered on Yodobashi.com. For a traveller with a Tokyo evening to fill, it is the diecast stop that needs no planning.
