PIT BAR

Overview

PIT Bar is a shot bar built for people who want to talk cars, 30 seconds on foot from Akasaka Mitsuke station in the basement of the Sakatani Building. Owner Yuta Yamamoto opened it in December 2025 as an indoor gathering place for enthusiasts in a city with few of them, and the room is styled on Formula 1 after parties and garages: about 96 square metres with 35 seats across a counter and private seating.

Two things set it apart from a themed bar with posters. There is a racing simulator on the floor, and a Pit Stop Challenge where you swap a real race worn tyre against the clock. The drinks lean into it: the standard list of beer, lemon sour, oolong highball, gin and tonic, tequila sunrise and rum and coke starts at ¥1,000, and the originals are named for car colours, engines and F1 liveries, the Rosso Corsa Martini and the V12 Majesty among them. Food is light, mixed nuts and fries from ¥400.

It is a destination in itself rather than a meet venue, open from 5pm until 4am, so it works as the last stop after a Tokyo car day or the first one on a night out.

What to Expect

Walk down to B1F, take a counter seat or a private table, and order from the ¥1,000 list before working up to the F1 cocktails.

  • 35 seats over about 96 square metres, counter and private seating, styled on F1 garages and after parties.
  • A racing simulator on site.
  • The Pit Stop Challenge: change a real race worn tyre against the clock.
  • Drinks from ¥1,000; original cocktails named for liveries, engines and car colours, including the Rosso Corsa Martini and V12 Majesty.
  • Light snacks from ¥400.
  • Open 5pm to 4am, Google lists Sunday closed.
  • Instagram @pit\_bar is where the bar posts what is on.

Best way to experience it: go with two or three people who will take the pit stop challenge seriously, then settle in at the counter; it is a conversation bar, not a nightclub.
