Lebanon's automotive identity is shaped by contradiction and intensity. The mountain roads radiating out of Beirut toward the Metn, Chouf and Kesrouane districts are the country's driving heartland. Routes climbing toward the Cedars of God and the Qadisha Valley reward drivers with tight, technical switchbacks, sweeping ridge-line straights and views that stretch to the Mediterranean. Rally Lebanon, part of the FIA Middle East Rally Championship, has sent stages through the mountain roads north and east of Beirut, and the local club racing and autocross community keeps competitive driving alive. Car shows, classic gatherings and informal cruise nights in Beirut and Jounieh are a regular fixture, drawing everything from immaculate vintage Peugeots to tuned Japanese imports.
