RC Cars & Drift St. Wendel
Overview
RC Cars & Drift is the radio-controlled model car section of TV 1861 St. Wendel e.V., operating a permanent outdoor asphalt on‑road track and an indoor hall track for carpet racing and drifting. The club runs regular training sessions, organised races and guest days with named trainers and live timing for events.
Visitors can join free training or race events as guest drivers (prior registration requested). The club lists contact details on its website and maintains separate summer (outdoor) and winter (indoor) locations in St. Wendel.
What to Expect
Expect hands-on track time mixing 1:10 on‑road tourenwagen and RC drifters and a club atmosphere with coaches and live timing.
On the track
- Indoor sessions run on ETS carpet in the hall; outdoor summer track is permanent asphalt.
- Typical activities: free training, coached sessions, club races and drift practice.
- Events use live timing/entry platforms (MyRCM/rcgarage) and have structured practice/heats.
- Guest drivers are welcome but the club asks for prior registration and adherence to class rules.
Best way to experience it
Arrive with your ready-to-run car and spare tyres, register as a guest in advance, and plan for blocks of practice between organised heats—coaches are available during training nights.
Things to Note
- Guest fee reported at about €10 per day; bring cash or confirm payment method.
- Prior registration for guest drivers is requested; contact via club website or phone.
- Indoor and outdoor locations differ by season; check which track is running that day.
- Bring spare batteries, tyres and a transponder if participating in timed events.
