Racing in Italy Cremona

Overview

Racing in Italy is a race team from near Milan, run by team principal Oren Shibi, that sells drives in the cars it races. The team bills Cremona Circuit as its popular circuit for formula car track days, and the menu here has shorter drives than at the Grand Prix circuits: half and full days in a Formula BMW or an Alpine powered Mygale Formula 4, and a single session in a Dallara Formula 3.

Drivers with formula days behind them can book full days in the Dallara Formula 3s, the GP2 car sold as a Formula 2, or a Mercedes AMG or Audi R8 GT, run by the team's mechanics with telemetry and a professional coach. Motorcycle courses and track days run here too, and the racing academies name Cremona among the circuits they use.

The circuit is east of Cremona, in Lombardy. The team's offices are in Vigevano, and its beginner courses and supercar test drives run at its home circuit at Castelletto di Branduzzo, south of Milan, which has its own listing.

What to Expect

  • There are two Formula 4s. The BMW FB02, the Formula BMW car, runs a 1.2 litre BMW K1200RS motorcycle engine of 145 hp through a Hewland sequential gearbox with a clutch. The Mygale is a 2018 car with a 2.0 litre Alpine engine of 165 hp and a SADEV six speed sequential gearbox on paddles, and it raced in Danish F4 before the team bought it.
  • The Formula 3s are Dallaras on VW Spiess engines: the F308 has 245 hp, 465 kg and a Drexler six speed paddle shift, the later F318 has 248 hp, 500 kg and a Hewland paddle shift. The team says its F308 is the car Daniel Ricciardo raced in the 2008 Formula 3 season.
  • The Formula 3 test drive is one session of about 20 minutes in the F308, filmed onboard: a shorter way into an F3 than a full track day.
  • The Formula 2 is a Dallara GP2 car built in 2005 and run on its 2008 setup: a 4.0 litre Mecachrome V8 of about 630 hp, a Hewland six speed sequential gearbox and 688 kg. It raced in the BossGP series.
  • The GT is a Mercedes AMG or an Audi R8, both 2023 cars prepared for the GT cup the team runs in the FX Italian Series.
  • All the formula cars are single seaters, so nobody rides with you. On the full track days the coach goes through your telemetry and onboard video between sessions and the mechanics change the setup before the next run, on a live track with other cars, marshals and strictly timed sessions.
  • Bikes: the team runs motorcycle courses and track days here on a Honda CBR600 or a Yamaha R1.

Things to Note

  • How it runs: Cremona is the team's regular weekday circuit, not a daily operation. On the 2026 calendar the formula days, the Formula 3 test drive included, ran almost every Tuesday, and the motorcycle days were 24 April, 22 May and 26 June. Dates come from the team.
  • Formula 4 prices, per person: the BMW FB02 is €1,790 for a half day of 3 sessions or €3,590 for a full day of 5 to 6 sessions, each session 10 laps or 20 minutes, whichever comes first, with 2 to 6 hours on site by the team's figure. The Alpine Mygale is €2,590 for a half day or €4,490 for a full day.
  • Formula 3 prices: the test drive is €1,850 for one session of about 20 minutes. A full track day is €9,500 in the F308 or €12,800 in the F318, for 4 to 5 sessions of about 25 minutes.
  • Formula 2 and GT prices: the Formula 2 day is €39,000 for 4 to 5 sessions of about 25 minutes. The GT day is €9,500 for 4 to 5 sessions of 25 minutes.
  • What the full track days include: the Formula 2 and Formula 3 days include the race team, mechanics and setup, a professional coach, a theory course, telemetry, onboard video with telemetry, transponder timing, fuel, transport of the car, and a helmet with microphone, gloves and suit. The GT day includes the team, a coach, telemetry, video, transponder timing, fuel, used tyres, transport of the car, circuit admission, lunch and an aperitif.
  • Motorcycles and academies: the motorcycle track day is €4,900 on the CBR600 or €6,100 on the R1, for 6 to 8 sessions of 25 to 30 minutes, with a €5,000 deposit, riders up to 190 cm and 95 kg and a driving licence to bring. The motorcycle racing course is €1,250. The racing academies are €4,900 for 3 days, €14,900 for 5 days and €6,490 for the kids academy (from 160 cm tall), with a €5,000 deposit, or €8,000 when the team's car insurance is not bought; courses usually start on a Monday.
  • Add ons: racing licence assistance at €1,700, and driver and car insurance sold by the team (or full cover arranged through GULLWING). Drivers bringing their own race car can buy the team's services on their own: mechanic €350, telemetry €450, professional coach €500, full support pack in northern Italy €1,450.
  • Who can drive: the BMW Formula 4 at Cremona is only for drivers who have done at least one formula day. The Formula 3 test drive and the Formula 2 and Formula 3 track days are only for drivers who have already driven a formula car. The GT day takes entry level drivers; the C licence is not included and the team helps obtain it. A driving licence is needed to drive on track, and anyone booking must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Size limits: the BMW Formula 4 takes drivers up to 187 cm and 95 kg, the GT up to 200 cm and 95 kg, and the academies up to 185 cm and 85 kg.
  • Deposit and damage: €10,000 on the Formula 2 and Formula 3 track days and on the Formula 3 test drive, which the team states is the most charged after an accident. €5,000 on the Alpine Formula 4 and €20,000 on the GT day, unless the team's car insurance is bought. Damage the driver causes to the car or a third party is charged under the list attached to the waiver signed before going on track, personal injury sits with the driver's own insurance, and international visitors declare the activity to their own insurer.
  • Gear: the GT day excludes gear, so an FIA approved helmet, HANS, gloves, suit, shoes and underwear are the driver's own. The Formula 3 test drive includes a helmet with microphone, race gloves and a suit. For the Formula 4 days, the team's FAQ says formula drivers are given a helmet, gloves and racing shoes, plus a suit at most circuits. Gear can be bought through the team with a month's notice.
  • Not included: travel, accommodation and any meals beyond those listed.
  • Weather: the Formula 2 track day runs in light and heavy rain under the circuit organiser's rules. The motorcycle track day does not run in snow, heavy rain or on a frozen track, with the day postponed or fully refunded.
  • Cancellation: both Formula 4 days at Cremona up to 1 week before. The Formula 2 and Formula 3 track days up to 2 weeks before the organiser's registration closes, under the organiser's refund policy. The GT day, the motorcycle track day and the academies up to 1 month before. Date changes are free when asked more than 2 days ahead and subject to availability after that.
  • Booking: book and pay online on the team's shop at least 24 hours ahead, or by WhatsApp for anything shorter; cards are not taken at the circuit. Gift cards are sold in the same shop. Questions go to +39 02 8088 9801, WhatsApp +39 328 596 9126 or info@racinginitaly.com.
  • On the day: the team's box number is posted on the main board at the circuit entrance, and the crew wears yellow.
