Pinewood Raceway

Pinewood Raceway is an indoor slot-car venue inside the Pinewood Activity Centre, featuring two permanent competition tracks for club nights, public sessions and events. The venue runs junior and senior races, national events and hosts private hires including birthday parties and corporate sessions.

Facilities include an on-site shop for cars and spares, a clubhouse that fits about 60 people, dedicated children’s seating for parties, and free parking. Bookings and event hires are handled through the Raceway's events coordinator and include marshals and basic race direction.

Expect hands-on slot-car racing on two permanent tracks: a 6-lane ~145 ft competition track and a 5-lane ~90 ft track for club classes and juniors.

What you'll do:

• Use supplied cars and controllers to race head-to-head on timed heats and finals.
• Get technical advice and spares from the small on-site shop between races.
• Attend club nights or public sessions with marshals and a race director managing heats.
• For parties, race for about 90 minutes within a typical 2-hour hire slot, with a refreshment break.

Best way to experience it: Arrive early for practice laps, ask staff about car setup for your class, and if coming for a party or private hire book in advance to secure the larger 6-lane track and space for guests.

• Free on-site parking at the Pinewood Activity Centre.
• Children’s parties: minimum age 6 and dedicated children’s seating.
• Payment traditionally cash or cheque on the day; card not listed in 2023–24 terms.
• Cancellation requires five working days' notice to avoid the minimum-charge fee.
