Overview

Museu Duas Rodas (M2R) presents a focused collection of bicycles, motorcycles, parts and memorabilia from the 19th century to modern competition. Displays include documentary and photographic archives and regionally important racing items.

Housed at the Centro de Alto Rendimento de Anadia (Velódromo Nacional) in Sangalhos, the museum opened in June 2021 and is promoted on local tourist routes. Visits are run with scheduled slots and prior arrangements for weekdays.

What to Expect

  • Very early bicycles from the 19th century.
  • Competition jerseys and trophies linked to regional riders such as Joaquim Agostinho.
  • Photographic and documentary collections that contextualise local cycling culture.
  • Components and accessories showing technical evolution.

Best way to experience it:

Book ahead for a weekday visit or check weekend public time slots; allow 45–60 minutes to view exhibits and read displays. The museum sits inside the velodrome complex, so combine with a visit to nearby cycling sites in Anadia.
