Overview

Kart Center Heiligenstadt runs a combined indoor and outdoor kart circuit with a pit area and spectator zone, marketed as the region’s longest combined track. The venue uses a digital timing system and public displays for clear lap timing and race results.

Prior booking is required and minimum age is 12 (children under 12 can join via the children’s kart school). Payment on site is cash only; the centre also rents GoPro cameras and offers event trophies and photo options.

What to Expect

Expect a facility split between an indoor hall and an outdoor section, with a visible start/finish timing line and large screens showing live results.

Look out for:

  • The indoor pit and spectator area where lap times and leaderboards are displayed.
  • The indoor→outdoor transition that lengthens the lap and adds variety to corners.
  • Digital timing to 1/1000s — results are shown on public monitors.
  • Extras such as GoPro rentals, trophies and event packages for groups.

Best way to experience it:

Book in advance for a training session or one of the race packages; arrive early for briefing and helmet fitting and bring cash (cards are not accepted). If you want onboard footage, reserve a GoPro rental when booking.

Things to Note

  • Prior binding booking is required.
  • Minimum participant age 12; under‑12s need the children’s kart school with registration.
  • Kartenzahlung (card payment) is not possible on site — bring cash.
  • Some national holidays are closed; check the venue calendar before you go.
