Hippiebus

Hippiebus rents restored Volkswagen T2/T2B campers and event buses from Assenede, Belgium, for self-drive holidays, chauffeured hires and special events. The company also offers add-ons such as roadbooks, delivery, and a photobooth caravan.

Pickup and return are handled from Knikkerstraat 9, 9960 Assenede. Rentals generally cover Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and northern France, with seasonal and distance limits and standard booking terms listed on the official site.

You’ll collect a vintage VW camper with basic fittings suitable for weekend trips, weddings or photoshoots. Vehicles are older models restored for rental—expect classic quirks rather than modern car comforts.

Look out for:

• Vehicle type: classic VW T2/T2B models; limited top-speed and older-mechanical feel.

• Permitted area: Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg and northern France (check exact limits before booking).

• Driver rules: minimum age 25 with 5 years’ B licence required for self-drive.

• Rental terms: seasonal restrictions for overnight camper use (not available Nov–Feb) and km allowances vary by rental length.

Best way to experience it: Book early, confirm permitted travel radius and included kilometres, and take a short familiarisation drive at pickup. For events, request delivery or a chauffeured option to avoid driving older vehicles long distances.

• Pickup/return address: Knikkerstraat 9, 9960 Assenede.

• Deposit and payment: €500 security deposit and 50% advance required to confirm a reservation.

• Overnight camper use is seasonally limited (not offered Nov–Feb); check dates before booking.

• Extra kilometres and long-distance use incur additional charges and restrictions—confirm allowances.
