GP Racing Simulators
Overview
GP Racing Simulators is a purpose‑built, 3,600 sq ft centre at Playsport offering full‑motion virtual reality racing on professional‑grade simulators. The site opened to the public in May 2024 and houses ten simulator rigs alongside a licensed bar and dining area.
The centre uses motion/haptic technology paired with VR headsets — presented by the operator as the only haptic system licensed by the FIA — and is listed with Playsport and VisitScotland as having accessible parking, level access and accessible toilets.
What to Expect
Experience high‑fidelity, seat‑mounted racing rigs that combine motion platforms with VR headsets for realistic cornering and force feedback.
Look out for:
- Ten professional‑grade full‑motion simulators suited to solo runs or head‑to‑head sessions.
- Motion (haptic) platforms paired with VR headsets for immersive driving sensations.
- An on‑site licensed bar and dining area for after‑race socialising.
- Accessible parking, level access and accessible toilets at the Playsport venue.
Best way to experience it: Arrive a little early for a safety and orientation briefing, plan sessions for groups or mixed abilities, and let staff set up the rig and headset for comfort. Expect a short safety briefing and follow staff guidance if you have concerns about motion sickness.
Things to Note
- Pre‑booking is recommended for weekends and peak times.
- The centre lists accessible parking, level access and accessible toilets at Playsport.
- The experience uses full‑motion rigs and VR; it may not suit people prone to severe motion sickness.
- A licensed bar and dining area is on site; check venue announcements for event nights or private hires.
