G.base

Yashio, JapanClosed today, opens tomorrow 11am

Overview

G.base is a compact showroom and event space founded by Keiichi Tsuchiya that displays authentic JDM tuned and race cars alongside rotating exhibits and regular garage meets.

The venue includes a co-located cafe, limited on-site parking, and a program of events and vehicle displays aimed at enthusiasts and visitors curious about Japanese domestic market car culture.

What to Expect

Visit the showroom to view preserved and race-prepared JDM cars up close, read curator notes, and buy branded merchandise.

What you'll see

  • Permanent display cars arranged with build histories and photos.
  • Temporary exhibits and one-day Garage Meet events with local owners and tuners.
  • A small retail area selling G.base and JDM-themed goods.
  • HINANO KITCHEN cafe on site for coffee and light meals during opening hours.

Best way to experience it

Arrive by car if possible (limited on-site parking: 4–5 spaces); otherwise plan a 20-minute walk from Rokucho Station (Tsukuba Express). Check the G.base news page for scheduled Garage Meet dates and weekday closures before you go.

Things to Note

  • Limited on-site parking; nearby paid lots are recommended when full.
  • Typical opening hours are mid-morning to late afternoon; Monday is usually closed.
  • Cafe hours are separate from the showroom; food service may not be available during every event.
  • Events (Garage Meet) can change location or require earlier arrival for parking.
