Yamaha Off Road Experience
Overview
A long‑running riding school based near Llanidloes, offering instructor‑led off‑road days and multi‑level courses on Yamaha machines. The site sits on private tracks close to Hafren forest with a new Welcome Centre for briefings and kit storage.
Sessions focus on progressive coaching, machine control and fun trail or trial riding rather than competitive racing. Riders of varying skill levels are grouped, and Yamaha provides briefing, parking and basic facilities on site.
What to Expect
Start with a safety briefing and kit check, then one‑to‑one coaching and guided laps on natural trails and purpose‑built sections. Instruction is tailored by ability, with emphasis on fundamentals, cornering, stand-up riding and controlled hillwork.
Look out for:
- Short instructor demonstrations followed by supervised practice.
- Mixed terrain: forest tracks, mud, roots and man‑made technical features.
- Group sizes that keep coaching focused; machines supplied for some sessions.
- A new Welcome Centre for registration, briefings and shelter.
Best way to experience it:
Arrive with sturdy boots and layered, waterproof clothing; if you need bikes or protective hire confirm availability when booking. Communicate your experience level in advance so instructors can place you in the right group.
Things to Note
- Bring your own gloves, boots and base layers if possible.
- Bike and helmet hire may be available but should be confirmed before arrival.
- The site is rural—allow extra travel time and expect limited mobile signal.
- Sessions run in varied weather; come prepared for mud and cold.
