Volkswagen Slovakia Martin Plant Tour
Overview
Volkswagen Slovakia’s Martin plant manufactures transmission and chassis components—gears, shafts, differential housings and synchronising parts—on a modern 58,000 m² site. The VISIT Centre organises guided factory tours that explain production processes and workplace organisation.
Tours run on weekdays and must be reserved in advance; they are available in Slovak as standard, with German or English tours offered for an additional fee. The visit is practical and safety-focused rather than a casual museum-style experience.
What to Expect
A structured, safety-first walk through a live production facility with guided explanations of component manufacturing and quality checks.
Look out for:
- Live production lines for gears, shafts and differential housings
- Demonstrations of machining and assembly stages
- Explanations of quality control and process logistics
- Strict safety zones and signage where access is controlled
Best way to experience it:
Book at least three business days in advance via visit@volkswagen.sk, join a small group (max 15; larger parties are split), wear sturdy closed-toe shoes, and expect Slovak commentary unless you request an English or German tour (extra charge applies).
Things to Note
- Tours run weekdays between 08:00–16:00; reserve at least 3 business days ahead.
- Maximum 15 people per group; children 12+ allowed.
- Photography and filming inside the plant are prohibited; closed-toe shoes required.
- Payment is by invoice only; provide billing details when booking.
