Tank Empire Budapest

Tank Empire Budapest is a military vehicle base at the Budaörs airport area on the edge of Budapest where you drive real Cold War armour with an instructor, no licence needed. The collection runs from the T-72 and T-55 main battle tanks through BMP and BTR armoured vehicles, self propelled artillery and air defence systems to MAZ and KrAZ military trucks.

The three headline packages each give you an hour: you drive the main vehicle with a passenger on board, then ride in a BTR-80 driven by a professional, fire blank rounds from a Glock 17 and an M2 Browning, and get into the museum. Tracked puts you in an MT-LB, Armored in a 2S1 Gvozdika howitzer, and Empire in a T-72 main battle tank.

It suits stag groups, corporate teams and anyone who has always wanted to drive a tank. Briefings and paperwork run in English, French and Hungarian.

• You get the basic military kit and protective gear, then a tactical briefing from your instructor before you drive.
• You drive the main vehicle on controlled terrain under supervision, with your passenger riding along.
• Tracked is the MT-LB armoured carrier, Armored is the 2S1 Gvozdika self propelled howitzer, and Empire is the T-72 main battle tank.
• After your drive you ride in a BTR-80 with a professional at the controls.
• Every package includes blank shooting with a Glock 17 and an M2 Browning, with eye and ear protection, and entry to the museum.
• Bringing friends or family? They can come as extra passengers, up to 19 per booking, and the museum is part of the package. Up to five more people can drive as extra drivers.
• Best way to experience it: book the Empire package to drive the T-72, add extra drivers for the ones who want a turn, and bring the rest of the group as passengers.

• Tracked, MT-LB, 60 minutes: €790. Extra driver €290, extra passenger €50.
• Armored, 2S1 Gvozdika, 60 minutes: €890. Extra driver €390, extra passenger €50.
• Empire, T-72, 60 minutes: €1,290. Extra driver €490, extra passenger €50.
• Each package includes VAT, one driver, one passenger, the BTR-80 ride, blank shooting, museum entry, basic military equipment and protective gear.
• Up to 5 extra drivers and up to 19 extra passengers per package.
• Add ons: helicopter flight priced on request. VIP programmes can add more tanks, a car crush, an armoured off road ride, drone video, photos, transfers and catering, quoted on request.
• No driving licence needed. Shooting is for guests over 18 years of age. Under 18s take part only with adult supervision.
• By appointment only. The team confirms time, group size, transfer, clothing and add ons before the day.
• Free cancellation or changes in writing at least 48 hours before the start. Inside 48 hours, or a no show, the deposit is kept. Changes within 72 hours are not guaranteed.
• Arrive on time. More than 15 minutes late and the programme is cancelled with the deposit kept.
• You take part at your own risk. Damage from deliberate or improper use can be charged on the spot. Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs can be excluded.
