Overview

ring°werk is the Nürburgring's own motorsport experience museum, a 15,000 square metre hall on Nürburgring Boulevard beside the Grand Prix circuit in Nürburg, in the Eifel hills of Rhineland Palatinate. It opened in 2009 as part of the circuit's leisure complex and has been the circuit's answer to what there is to do at the Ring when nothing is running on track. It has been closed since 2 February 2026.

Before the closure it held historic winning cars from the circuit's past, exhibition areas on the Nürburgring, its drivers and the racing series that run there, racing simulators, a team pit stop challenge, a multimedia exhibit on the Nordschleife (the Green Hell) and the ring°kino, where the 24 hour race played as a 4D film with wind, rain and lightning. A visitor in 2025 counted about twenty cars on the floor.

The building is being rebuilt as a shared centre. About two thirds of the floor area goes to car industry tenants, Xiaomi first, with a direct road onto the Grand Prix track. The ring°kino stays and a newly designed museum area is planned, with no opening date set.

What to Expect

  • Closed since 2 February 2026, so nothing below can be visited today. This is what the museum has been and what the operator says comes back in the rebuilt building.
  • Historic winning cars from the Nürburgring's own history, about twenty on the floor on a 2025 visit, in exhibition areas on the circuit, its drivers and the series that race here.
  • Racing simulators through the halls, the part families spent the longest on.
  • The ring°kino: the 24 hour race as a 4D film with spray rain, lightning flashes and wind. The operator says the cinema stays in its current form.
  • A team pit stop challenge, racing each other for the fastest tyre change.
  • A multimedia exhibit on the Nordschleife, the Green Hell.
  • A kids area for children up to 10 years of age.
  • Visitors in 2024 reported close to four hours inside, those with young kids the longest.

Things to Note

  • Closed since 2 February 2026 for a full rebuild. The operator has not set a reopening date and says a museum area and the cinema return inside a building shared with car industry tenants. Reopening is announced on the official page linked below.
  • Nothing is on sale: no tickets, no hours, no bookings. The last published prices before the closure were 12 euros for adults, 9.50 euros reduced, 37.50 euros for a family ticket and free for children up to 5 years of age.
  • Info and tickets line for the circuit: +49 2691 302 630, toll free inside Germany 0800 20 83 200.
  • The hall is on Nürburgring Boulevard beside the Grand Prix circuit, with the circuit's hotels and restaurants around it.
  • There is no train station at the circuit, so plan on driving.
