Ride Side Snowmobile Zakopane

Ride Side runs guided snowmobile trips out of a base at Dzianisz, west of Zakopane, on private groomed trails through the Podhale foothills around Kościelisko, Gubałówka and Witów with the Tatras in view. Every trip is guided and starts with a briefing on the machine, so this is a ride you drive yourself behind a guide, not a rental you take off on alone.

The machine is the Lynx Adventure 600 ACE, throttle and brake only with no gears, and about 90 percent of their riders have never been on one. Three trips are sold: Snow Short at 45 minutes, Snow Trail at 1.5 hours, and Snow Adventure at 2.5 hours with a campfire feast halfway. Each is sold as a single machine or a double with a passenger on the back.

It suits first timers, couples and groups of friends who want proper seat time in the snow with nothing more than a car licence. It is not for anyone under 18 years of age at the handlebars.

• You are handed a certified full face helmet, then the guide walks you through throttle, braking, turning and how to shift your weight on the machine before anyone moves.
• The Lynx Adventure 600 ACE has no gear shifting, just throttle and brake, which is why most riders are comfortable within the first few minutes.
• Snow Short is 45 minutes of groomed trail with a photo stop at a viewpoint. Snow Trail is 1.5 hours and heads into wilder, hillier terrain. Snow Adventure is 2.5 hours and runs deeper into the Podhale trails.
• On Snow Adventure the group pulls up at a ridge facing the Tatra peaks for a campfire with sausages, oscypek smoked cheese, bread and hot tea, then rides the return loop.
• You ride in a group behind the guide, with a gap kept between machines and a speed cap on the trails. Both hands stay on the bars the whole ride, so photos wait for the stops.
• Bringing friends or family? One of them rides on the back of your machine on a double snowmobile, two to a machine, and shares the campfire on Snow Adventure.
• Best way to experience it: Snow Adventure is the flagship trip, book it as a double if you are two, and the campfire break is where the group ends up swapping stories.

• 2026/27 price list, valid 1 December 2026 to 31 March 2027. Snow Short 45 minutes: single PLN 270, double PLN 370. Snow Trail 1.5 hours: single PLN 440, double PLN 590. Snow Adventure 2.5 hours with campfire: single PLN 640, double PLN 790.
• Prices may be PLN 50 higher over Christmas and New Year.
• Included: snowmobile, fuel, helmet, guide, and the campfire food on Snow Adventure.
• Add ons: winter clothing set (boots, ski pants, jacket, gloves) PLN 50 to hire. Balaclava PLN 20 to buy on site, or bring your own, a neck gaiter also works. Free disposable hygiene caps are provided for anyone without one.
• Bring a waterproof winter jacket and pants (mandatory), thermal base layers, waterproof insulated gloves, warm socks and waterproof high ankle winter boots, or hire the set.
• The driver must be at least 18 years of age and hold a category B or B1 car licence. ID may be asked for at handover. Children ride as passengers subject to the minimum age set per route, which is not published online, so ask when booking.
• Two people maximum per machine. Helmet on for the whole ride. Speed limit of 20 km/h off public roads and no overtaking.
• The machines are not insured against damage. You sign a statement that you ride at your own risk and are liable for damage to the machine and to third parties caused by your fault. Damage is assessed on site against the manufacturer's price list.
• Anyone showing signs of alcohol or other substances is refused and not refunded, and staff can breathalyse.
• Booking is for a fixed day and time and there is no consumer right of withdrawal under Polish law, so treat it as non refundable once paid. If there is no snow on your date they move the date or refund in full.
• Book online or by phone, confirmation comes by email after payment. Dates not shown online are sometimes available by phone.
• Base: Dzianisz, next to ul. Podhalańska 95, the office is a container directly behind the building. About 20 minutes by car from Zakopane town centre.
