Racing in Italy Magny-Cours
Overview
Racing in Italy is a race team from near Milan, led by team principal Oren Shibi, that sells drives in the cars it races. At Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours in central France its car products are full day track days in a 2018 Mygale Formula 4 with an Alpine engine and in the team's Dallara Formula 3s with VW Spiess engines, run with the team's own mechanics, telemetry and a professional race driver as coach.
The other product here is on two wheels: a motorcycle track day on the team's Honda CBR600 or Yamaha R1. The GT cars the team takes to other circuits are not sold here, and none of the championships it races in had a round here in 2026.
Magny-Cours is south of Nevers. The team's offices and workshop are in Vigevano, and its beginner courses and supercar test drives stay at its home circuit at Castelletto di Branduzzo, south of Milan, which has its own listing.
What to Expect
- The Formula 4 is a 2018 Mygale with a naturally aspirated 2.0 litre Renault Alpine engine of 165 hp and a SADEV six speed sequential gearbox worked by paddles. It raced in Danish F4 before it joined the team.
- The Formula 3 comes in two versions, both Dallaras on VW Spiess engines: the F308 with 245 hp, 465 kg and a Drexler six speed paddle shift, or the later F318 with 248 hp, 500 kg and a Hewland paddle shift. According to the team, its F308 is the car Daniel Ricciardo raced in the 2008 Formula 3 season.
- On two wheels the choice is the team's Honda CBR600 or the bigger Yamaha R1.
- Both cars are single seaters, so nobody rides along. The coaching happens in the garage: between sessions the coach goes through your telemetry and onboard video, and the mechanics adjust the setup for the next run.
- Every car session is timed on a transponder and filmed onboard, and the Formula 3 footage comes with the telemetry laid over it.
- The crew arrives the day before to unload and prepare the cars. The day opens with a racing course and briefing on the car and the circuit, then follows the circuit's own session timetable on an active track shared with other cars, with marshals and strictly timed sessions.
Things to Note
- How it runs: Magny-Cours is a dated stop on the team's season calendar, not a daily operation. In 2026 the car track days ran on 17 and 18 August. Magny-Cours is on the motorcycle track day's circuit list, but no Magny-Cours date was on the team's 2026 motorcycle calendar. Dates come from the team.
- Prices, per person: Formula 4 track day €9,490 for 4 to 5 sessions of 20 minutes. Formula 3 track day €16,400 in the F308 or €19,900 in the F318, the team's rate for circuits outside Italy, for 4 to 5 sessions of about 25 minutes. Motorcycle track day €6,900 on the CBR600 or €8,100 on the R1, the team's rate for circuits outside Italy, for 6 to 8 sessions of 25 to 30 minutes.
- What the car days include: the race team, a professional race driver as coach, telemetry, onboard video, transponder timing, fuel and transport of the car. The Formula 4 day adds a used tyre set and circuit admission for the driver. The Formula 3 day adds a theory course and a helmet with microphone, gloves and suit.
- Gear on the Formula 4 day: the team's FAQ says formula drivers are given a helmet, gloves and racing shoes, plus a suit at most circuits. Race gear can be bought through the team with a month's notice.
- Add ons: a new tyre set on the Formula 4 day at €1,800, racing licence assistance at €1,700, and driver and car insurance sold by the team (or full cover arranged through GULLWING).
- Who can drive: the Formula 3 day is only for drivers who have already driven a formula car. The Formula 4 day accepts entry level drivers, and the team recommends its racing course first. The team says some circuits need a racing licence of any level and that one is required at most of the famous circuits. Anyone booking must be 18 years of age or older.
- Size limits: the Formula 4 takes drivers up to 185 cm and 85 kg, with height given when ordering. The motorcycle track day takes riders up to 190 cm and 95 kg, with a driving licence to bring.
- Deposit and damage: €10,000 on the Formula 3 day, which the team states is the most charged after an accident. €7,000 on the Formula 4 day unless the team's car insurance is bought, and €5,000 on the motorcycle track day. Damage the driver causes to the vehicle or a third party is charged under the list attached to the waiver signed before going on track, and personal injury sits with the driver's own insurance.
- Not included: travel, accommodation and meals.
- Weather: the Formula 4 runs only on a dry track and does not run in snow, heavy rain or on a frozen track, with the day postponed or fully refunded. It does run on foggy days.
- Cancellation: the Formula 4 and motorcycle track days up to 1 month before. The Formula 3 day up to 2 weeks before the organiser's registration closes, under the organiser's refund policy. Date changes are free when asked more than 2 days ahead and subject to availability after that.
- Booking: book and pay online on the team's shop before the day; cards are not taken at the circuit. The Formula 4 day takes up to 3 drivers per event. For a gift, write YES and the preferred date at checkout and fill in the voucher form; gift cards are sold in the same shop. Questions go to +39 02 8088 9801, WhatsApp +39 328 596 9126 or info@racinginitaly.com.
- On the day: the team's box number is posted on the main board at the circuit entrance, and the crew wears yellow.
