Poynton's

Poynton's (J H Poynton & Sons) is a family‑run newsagent and hobby store trading from Unit 17 in the Derbion shopping centre. The business traces its roots back to 1848 and is one of Derby’s longstanding independent retailers.

Inside you'll find a mix of magazines, newspapers, traditional sweets and a well‑stocked model/hobby section (Airfix, Hornby, Scalextric, Tamiya and similar brands), making it popular with local collectors and shoppers in the mall.

A compact, well‑established shop offering reading materials, confectionery and hobby supplies suitable for collectors and casual visitors alike.

Look out for:

• Wide selection of model kits and diecast brands (Hornby, Scalextric, Airfix, Tamiya and Revell).

• Spare parts, paints and basic modelling tools for repairs and builds.

• Traditional sweets and a rolling newsagent selection of magazines and papers.
