Porsche Experience Center Franciacorta
Overview
Porsche Experience Center Franciacorta is Porsche Italia's own driving centre, with its own cars, instructors and bookings. The headline drive is the Tasting. You pick a Porsche from the fleet, a 718, 911, Taycan, Panamera, Macan or Cayenne, and drive it with an official Porsche instructor beside you on the 2.5 km main circuit and the low grip handling areas.
Above that sit half day courses in drifting, safe driving, off road driving and timed challenges, race car days in the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport and GT4 RS Clubsport, Co-Pilot passenger rides with a professional driver, and My Porsche days for owners who bring their own car. Electric karts and a Sim Lab are booked on their own.
The centre opened in 2021 at Castrezzato in the province of Brescia as the eighth Porsche Experience Center in the world, on a site of about 60 hectares. The Speedster Restaurant is part of the same building and its terrace faces the circuit.
What to Expect
- The Tasting is the core drive: a welcome coffee, a 30 minute briefing, 10 minutes on the car, then 90 minutes of driving with an official Porsche instructor in the passenger seat and a 20 minute debrief. Tasting Single keeps you in one car for the full 90 minutes; Tasting Double splits it into two 45 minute drives in two different models.
- The fleet runs from the 911 Carrera through the Carrera GTS, Targa 4 GTS and Turbo to the 911 GT3 and GT3 RS, plus Taycan, Panamera, Macan and Cayenne models, many of them hybrid or fully electric. Not every car is offered on every experience.
- Co-Pilot puts you in the passenger seat while a professional driver takes a 911 Turbo S (711 hp), a 911 GT3 (510 hp) or a Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo (952 hp) to the limit. Drift runs on the polished concrete low friction circuit and circle, Time Attack is fast laps of the main circuit, and Crazy is both in one ride.
- The GT4 Racing Experience is a race car day in a 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport: 425 hp from a 3.8 litre flat six, a paddle shift dual clutch gearbox and Michelin slicks kept warm in tyre blankets before you go out. You get three 30 minute stints on the main circuit with a Porsche instructor, video and telemetry review between stints, then an onboard video and a certificate. The GT4 RS Racing Experience is the same format in the 500 hp GT4 RS Clubsport with a seven speed PDK. Two people can share one booking and swap at the wheel, which splits the track time between them.
- Drift Academy is three drift exercises of rising difficulty: power oversteer on a wet hairpin in a 911 Carrera S, then low grip drifting in a rear drive 911 Carrera GTS and an all wheel drive 911 Carrera 4 GTS. Warm Up is the safe driving course: slalom in a Macan, obstacle avoidance and emergency braking in a Taycan, understeer and oversteer in a 911 Carrera, then laps in a 911 Carrera GTS.
- Drivers Challenge is a scored day against your friends: timed electric kart runs, a timed slalom in a 911 Carrera S, drifting in a 911 Carrera and four fast laps of the main circuit in a 911 Carrera GTS, with the instructors naming a Best Driver of the Day. Off Road covers three exercise areas in Macan and Cayenne models on a 75,000 square metre course of ramps, side slopes, obstacles and a 1.2 km dirt track.
- My Porsche is open pit lane on the main circuit in your own road registered Porsche, with live timing and no more than 25 cars, over a half or full day. One companion can ride along or share the driving.
- The electric karts run on a 470 m outdoor track with 21 corners in three power levels, S, Turbo and Turbo S, and the faster modes unlock only after a lap under a set time. The Sim Lab has eight Porsche simulators and more than 40 circuits, the centre's own track included, for a solo session or a race against friends.
Things to Note
- Every experience is booked and paid online through the centre's shop, by credit card only. Electric kart and Sim Lab sessions are booked online and paid on site by card before the session. Porsche Italia only uses Italian bank accounts and never asks for payment into an account in another country.
- Prices from the experience pages, VAT included: Tasting Single or Double from €400 per person. Co-Pilot per person: Drift €125 (7 laps, 5 of them drifting, about 10 minutes), Time Attack €175 (4 laps, 2 at the limit, about 10 minutes), Crazy €300 (11 laps, about 20 minutes).
- GT4 Racing Experience €3,500 and GT4 RS Racing Experience €4,500, each half a day with about 90 minutes at the wheel. Helmet with intercom, HANS device, race suit, gloves and boots are supplied, and you can use your own race gear. Both run only in dry weather; rain moves the booking to the first available date.
- Courses: Drift Academy €800 (4 hours, 45 minutes of driving), Warm Up €800 (4 hours), Drivers Challenge €700 (4 hours), Off Road €400 (3 hours). These courses and My Porsche run on a handful of set dates a year, listed on each experience page.
- My Porsche: half day €450, full day €800, with lunch at the Speedster Restaurant and an open bar in the pit box area included. Road registered Porsches only, no race cars. The car needs a technical check at your own Porsche Centre within two weeks before the day, and its tow hook fitted to the front bumper before going on track. Driver and passenger each bring their own helmet.
- Electric karts: Free Practice €20 (8 minutes), Grand Prix €35 (6 minute qualifying then a 15 lap race), from 14 years of age. Sim Lab: Free Practice €20 (15 minutes), Grand Prix €35 (8 minute qualifying then a 15 minute race).
- Add ons: a Tasting can add a Co-Pilot ride (from €125), an electric kart session (from €20) or a Sim Lab session (from €20). The GT4 and GT4 RS days include the onboard video. My Porsche extras are a pit box, a photo service and a dedicated Porsche instructor for the day. No photo, video or extra lap packages are listed for the other experiences.
- Every driver signs the assumption of responsibility form for the activity and shows an original, valid driving licence before going on track. A driver under 18 years of age needs the form signed by a parent or guardian, and children under 14 years of age must be accompanied anywhere on site.
- The Programma Porsche Owner is for owners of a new Porsche: 4 hours with a 90 minute drive, in your own car or compared against another model, plus lunch at the restaurant. The Porsche & Ducati Experience is a full day on set dates, half in Porsche cars and half on Ducati motorcycles, for up to 48 people; it needs a category B licence for the cars and an unrestricted category A licence for the bikes, plus your own riding jacket and trousers with protectors, helmet, gloves and boots (Ducati brings missing gear if you email your sizes to dre@ducati.com).
- The centre is open Tuesday to Thursday 8:30am to 7:30pm and Friday to Sunday 8:30am to 11:30pm, closed Mondays. It closes to the public on private event days, which are posted on the website.
- Address: Via Bargnana 2, Castrezzato (BS). The centre gives the Rovato exit of the A4 motorway as 15 minutes away. Phone 030 8563150, email pec.franciacorta@porsche.it.
