Overview

The Musée du patrimoine agricole et automobile de Salviac displays several hundred tractors, cars, two‑wheelers and everyday rural objects across indoor and outdoor exhibits on an 8,000 m² hilltop site. The collection is curated and presented by founder Benoît Jouclar and volunteers, with reconstructed interiors and machinery demonstrations.

The museum runs guided, theatricalised visits in high season and offers practical facilities including parking for cars, buses and camping‑cars, an on‑site pizza truck and arrangements for visitors with reduced mobility.

What to Expect

A large, partly outdoor site showing farm machinery, vintage cars, motorcycles and domestic objects arranged to illustrate rural life in the Lot.

Look out for:

  • Live demonstrations: engine starts, large‑bicycle displays and working machinery demonstrations.
  • Theatrical guided visits with staff in period dress during July–August and other high‑season slots.
  • A reconstructed traditional house and many everyday objects that give social context to the vehicles.
  • Panoramic views over the Quercy from the hilltop setting.

Best way to experience it: Arrive during the March–November opening season and join a guided/animated visit (departures commonly around 11:00 and 15:00 in July–August) to hear commentary, see demonstrations and get context from the volunteers.

Things to Note

  • Open daily 09:00–19:00 from 1 Mar to 30 Nov; off‑season visits by appointment.
  • Guided/animated visits and departures are scheduled in July–August without reservation; check the website for current times.
  • On‑site food is available from the 'La Bambina' pizza truck; group catering can be arranged.
  • Parking for cars, buses and camping‑cars is provided; contact the museum for accessibility arrangements.
