Musée de la Chartreuse & Fondation Bugatti

Housed in the former Carthusian priory, this municipal museum combines Molsheim’s archaeology, religious and regional art with the Fondation Bugatti’s archival material and design objects. The layout mixes period rooms, rotating local-history displays and a focused presentation of the Bugatti family’s designs and workshop artifacts.

The museum is run by the town of Molsheim; seasonal opening hours, guided events and ticketing are published on the municipal website. Plan ahead if you have specific accessibility or group-visit needs, since facilities and schedules follow the town programme.

A compact, two-part museum that rewards visitors interested in local Alsace history and early automotive design.

Look out for:

• Municipal collections: regional archaeology, religious art and objects that tell Molsheim’s local history.

• Fondation Bugatti exhibits: archival drawings, furniture, workshop items and select Bugatti chassis/objects tracing Ettore Bugatti’s workshop and family legacy.

• The building itself: restored Carthusian priory rooms and interpretive panels showing site history.

• Rotating temporary displays and occasional themed events published by the town.
