Model Maker

Model Maker (formerly Mike’s Models) is a long‑running independent model shop in Kingstanding, Birmingham, rebranded by the current owners in late 2024. The shop combines a physical store at 3–5 Brockwell Road with a full online shop for click‑and‑collect or delivery.

Stock covers model railways, radio‑control vehicles (cars, boats, planes, helicopters), plastic scale kits, wargaming/Warhammer ranges, and paints and modelling supplies. Opening hours vary between directory listings, so check the website or call before you visit.

A compact specialist shop aimed at hobbyists and collectors, with shelves of ready‑to‑go kits, boxed sets and modelling supplies plus parts for RC and railway projects.

Look out for:

• A wide selection of model railway scales and accessories.

• Radio‑control kits and spare parts for cars, boats and aircraft.

• Paints, adhesives and small tools for model building and weathering.

• Wargaming miniatures and supplies alongside hobbyist advice.

Best way to experience it:

Browse the online catalogue first to check stock, then phone ahead if you need specific parts or specialist advice; the shop is best for hands‑on selection and troubleshooting small projects.

• Verify current opening hours with the shop or website before you travel.

• Phone or email for stock checks on specific kits, scales or RC parts.

• Small shop footprint—expect narrow aisles and limited demo space.

• Online ordering with click‑and‑collect is available on the official site.
