Model Garage Romu

Model Garage Romu is a long‑established specialist retailer of mini‑cars, diecast models and hobby kits, founded in 1985. The shop stocks brands such as Spark, Autoart, Minichamps, BBR and CMC alongside decals, parts and modelling supplies.

The Umeda main store is located on the 5th floor of the Umeda Seiwa Building (2‑6‑30 Shibata, Kita‑ku) and shares hours information on its website. Romu also operates a separate buyback/second‑store nearby and runs an online shop with nationwide shipping and free‑shipping thresholds noted on the site.

A focused retail experience for collectors and modellers: well‑organised shelves, boxed new releases, boxed limited editions and a selections of kits and aftermarket parts.

Look out for:

• Limited‑run and hard‑to‑find diecast models from specialty brands.

• Fresh arrivals of 1:18 and 1:43 scales and premium resin releases.

• Hobby kits, decals, spare parts and basic modelling supplies.

• A separate buyback/second‑hand store nearby for used models and trades.

Best way to experience it: Check the online shop or call ahead for stock on specific models, visit on weekdays or Saturdays when the main store is open, and ask staff for help locating special‑order or rare items.

• Umeda main store hours are posted on the official site (weekdays and Saturday/holiday times listed); the shop is closed some days.

• Romu operates two nearby Osaka locations: the Umeda main store and a buyback/second‑hand shop.

• The online shop offers nationwide shipping and a stated free‑shipping threshold; check the site for exclusions.

• Staff and signage are primarily in Japanese; calling or emailing before a specific request can help.
