Mercedes-Benz Driving Events Nürburgring
Overview
Mercedes-Benz Driving Events is the official Mercedes-Benz driver training programme, run by the events company BKP GmbH of Unterföhring near Munich. At the Nürburgring it runs its track formats: a one day Race Track Training and a two day Race Track Pro Training on the Grand Prix circuit in AMG GT, AMG CLE and C-Class cars, and a two day Nordschleife Experience with section training and guided laps on the full 20.8 km Nordschleife.
The Mercedes-Benz Track Drive mixes safety stations, a drive on public roads and a race track session. AMG Experience on Track is led by instructors with a motorsport background. Road safety formats run from the one day Advanced Training to the two day Perfection Training, and there is one to one coaching on and off the circuit.
The circuit sits at Nürburg in the Eifel. The same team runs days at other German circuits and on ice in Austria and Sweden, all in cars it supplies, so nobody brings their own car.
What to Expect
- The cars come from Mercedes-Benz and depend on what is available on the day. Race Track Training and the Pro Training list the AMG GT, AMG CLE and the C-Class saloon and estate; the Nordschleife Experience lists the AMG GT, AMG SL, AMG C-Class and AMG CLE. Every car runs with two people on board.
- Race Track Training is a full day on the Grand Prix circuit built on section training, where one part of the track is worked at a time, and guided driving with an instructor setting the line.
- The Pro Training is the operator's most intensive track course: two days of kerbs, slipstreaming and apexes, with higher top speeds and more complex stations than the one day version.
- The Nordschleife Experience starts with an afternoon arrival, a safety briefing and dinner, then the whole second day is on the Nordschleife itself, in sections and guided laps with professional instructors.
- The Track Drive is the gentlest way onto the circuit: dynamic safety stations, a drive on public roads, a race track session as the highlight, and a workshop by Mercedes-Benz product trainers on charging and the cars' technology. The fleet runs from the AMG GT to the electric EQS SUV and EQE SUV.
- AMG Experience on Track opens with a slalom warm up, moves to a guided drive on public roads with instructors who come from motorsport, and finishes with laps behind an instructor's lead car, with drivers rotating so everyone sits directly behind it at least once. The list includes the AMG S-Class, G-Class, GT and SL.
- The safety side covers the Advanced Training, a day of simulated dangerous traffic situations, and the two day Perfection Training at the limit of grip. Individual Coaching lets one to four people choose between safety, driving dynamics and Mercedes-Benz driver assistance, and Race Track Individual Coaching is the circuit version, with a second car once there are three guests.
