Komatsu no Mori (こまつの杜)
Overview
Komatsu no Mori is a Komatsu‑operated museum and outdoor park on the former company site in Komatsu City. It combines a history pavilion, a Future Museum, a Kids Museum and an outdoor display area with full‑size Komatsu construction machines.
Admission and onsite parking are free, and the site is immediately adjacent to JR Komatsu Station. Facilities are barrier‑free with loaner wheelchairs and multi‑purpose toilets, making it easy to visit with children or mobility needs.
What to Expect
Start by exploring indoor exhibits that trace Komatsu’s company history and future technologies, then move outside to see and photograph full‑size excavators, dump trucks and other machines up close.
What you'll do or see:
- Walk through the Waku‑Waku History Pavilion with company artifacts and displays.
- Visit the Future Museum for technology exhibits and the Kids Museum for hands‑on play areas.
- Stroll the Genki Satoyama outdoor area to view large Komatsu machines on static display.
- Check onsite maps or the PDF brochure for temporary events and exhibit locations.
Best way to experience it: Arrive by JR to use the short walk from Komatsu Station, plan 1–2 hours to cover indoor and outdoor sections, and bring a camera for machine close‑ups; pick weekdays if possible (site closed some Sundays/Mondays and specific Saturdays).
