IceDrive Golsfjellet
Overview
IceDrive runs seven ice tracks on Tisleifjorden, a frozen lake at about 900 metres on Golsfjellet in Hallingdal, Norway, about 25 minutes above the town of Gol. There are around 22 kilometres of prepared ice across the seven layouts, from a 540 metre round course for learning the basics to the 3.68 kilometre Skogshorn, with drift areas and snake sections on some of them, and a track controller is on the ice whenever it is open.
It is an own car facility. You turn up in a road registered car on winter, studded or M+S tyres, sign the participant declaration and drive your booked track time, and the customers range from manufacturer and race teams testing to emergency services, corporate groups and car clubs. Porsche and Mercedes AMG are among the cars in the operator's own photos.
Booking is by arrangement with the two owners, the season runs January to March once the ice reaches about 35 centimetres, and an overnight stay at one of the operator's five approved hotels on the mountain is part of every booking.
