Overview

Goodwood Motor Circuit runs its own driving menu, with race team DTO Motorsport delivering the two headline days. The ProDriver Experience is four 15 minute sessions in a real race car, a BMW M2 CS Racing, McLaren 570 GT4 or Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo, with a coach beside you, lap data pulled after each run and a British GT pit crew on the car. Performance Track is three 15 minute sessions across an Alpine A110R, Porsche 718 GT4 and Mercedes-AMG GTR, then a hot lap beside a pro.

Revival Racing is 12 laps across four cars from a ten car fleet of 1950s and 1960s saloons and GTs, the oldest from 1958. Own car track days run in 15 minute sessions. Further down the menu are passenger hot laps, a skid pan spin and slide session, classic Land Rover off road drives, race simulators and junior driving sessions from 12 years of age.

The circuit sits on the Goodwood Estate north of Chichester in West Sussex: 2.4 miles, opened in 1948 and still in its original form. It suits licence holders who want a proper race circuit, and families, since friends and kids can watch. The same track hosts the Revival, Members' Meeting and Breakfast Club.

What to Expect

  • ProDriver is a race car for the day: a BMW M2 CS Racing (365 bhp, 7 speed DCT), a McLaren 570 GT4 (413 bhp, sequential gearbox) or a Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo (670 bhp, enquiry only). Four 15 minute sessions with a coach in the car every lap, lap data and video reviewed after each run, simulator time between sessions and a British GT pit crew looking after the car. The briefing is shared with up to 12 others and the day runs about four and a half hours for an hour of driving.
  • Performance Track is three road cars in one day: Alpine A110R (300 bhp, 1.8 litre turbo), Porsche 718 GT4 (414 bhp flat six) and Mercedes-AMG GTR (577 bhp twin turbo V8), 15 minutes in each with an instructor beside you. The first session opens with a sighting lap and the day ends with a hot lap in the passenger seat next to a professional racing driver. Up to 10 cars on the circuit at once, 22 in the briefing, about five hours on site for 45 minutes of driving.
  • Revival Racing is 12 laps across four cars from a ten car fleet: Porsche 912, Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV, Lotus Cortina Mk1, Mini Cooper Mk2, Jaguar Mk2, Ford Mustang, MGB, Lancia Fulvia Berlina 2C, Austin A40 Farina and Standard Ten, with 1960s interiors and music in the cars. A grid walk comes before the driving, an instructor sits in every car and no more than 8 cars are out at once. About four and a half hours on site including a meal.
  • Own car track days run in 15 minute sessions with 5 to 10 cars out on a 105 dB day and 8 to 14 on a 98 dB day, with sighting laps for first timers. A half day gives at least three sessions in about five hours on site; a full day at least six sessions in about nine hours. No open wheel or three wheel cars. One to one tuition can be added.
  • Passenger hot laps are three laps in the Alpine A110R with a Goodwood racing instructor driving: half an hour on site including the helmet fitting.
  • Spin and Slide is 50 minutes on the skid pan in an automatic BMW 230i M Sport learning powerslides, 180 degree spins and J turns, one to one, with no more than three cars on the pan.
  • Junior Driving: Track and Skid Pan puts young drivers in an automatic BMW 230i with dual controls for 60 minutes of one to one driving on the circuit and the skid pan, then 30 minutes in full motion race simulators. Off Road Adventure is a manual Series 2 Land Rover: clutch control on the circuit, then a slalom, log bridge and off road obstacles on the activity field. Each visit goes into a driving logbook that builds towards a Goodwood certificate.
  • Also on the menu: classic Land Rover off road drives through trenches, steep drops and mud traps (60 minutes for one driver with up to three passengers, 120 minutes for a group of four drivers), race simulator sessions with two practice runs and a timed lap for the circuit leaderboard, one to one simulator coaching from a British GT champion, the ARDS novice race licence course and the advanced ARDS course.

  • Add ons: a guest lunch is £30 per person at checkout on ProDriver and Performance Track; a guest food package on Revival Racing is £45 and must be booked at least 72 hours ahead, never on the day. Track day tuition is £100 for a one hour express session or from £300 for a half or full day, added at booking or by phone afterwards. Extra spectator lunches on track days are added at checkout.
  • Licence and age: drivers hold a full driving licence and show the card on the day (no photocopies) and need enough English for instruction. Passengers on hot laps, Spin and Slide and track days must be 14 years of age or over and at least 150 cm tall; young passengers on track days are signed on with proof of age, a passport or birth certificate preferred. Junior Driving needs no licence and is from 12 years of age (Track and Skid Pan) or 14 years of age (Off Road Adventure) with a 150 cm minimum height. Simulators are for 12 years of age and over at 1.5 m or taller. On Performance Track a 6 ft 2 height limit applies to the Alpine; anyone who does not fit drives one of the other two cars twice instead. Spectators under 16 years of age must be with an adult. Anyone judged to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs is refused.
  • What to wear: trousers are compulsory on every experience, no shorts, flip flops or sandals, and long sleeves are compulsory in open top cars on track days. A helmet is supplied on every circuit experience; on track days you may use your own road helmet but not a motocross helmet. ProDriver drivers can bring their own racing boots and gloves. Junior drivers wear flat soled, closed shoes.
  • Liability: every driver or passenger signs a disclaimer with next of kin details. On Revival Racing, Spin and Slide and the junior sessions the cars carry comprehensive accident insurance that does not apply to reckless or dangerous driving, and the driver accepts liability for damage caused through their own negligence. On ProDriver, Performance Track and hot laps Goodwood provides public liability cover.
  • Cancellation, weather and vouchers: under Goodwood's ticketing terms a Motor Circuit experience cancelled 28 days or more before the date is refunded to your Goodwood account or moved to another date within six months; under 28 days there is no refund. Driving is cancelled or cut short in snow, ice, heavy rain or high winds and the booker is told. Every experience can be bought as a gift voucher valid 12 months from purchase, redeemed online with the code at checkout or through the Ticket Office on 01243 755055, and vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • When it runs and how to book: experiences run on selected dates through the year with morning and afternoon slots shown in the online calendar on each experience page. On 18 October 2026 the calendar for ProDriver and Performance Track showed 8:00am and midday slots on 27 April 2027 only, and the first Junior Driving dates were 8 November 2026 and 24 January 2027. Bookings are made online at goodwood.com or on 01243 755055; the Ferrari ProDriver day goes through the enquiry form, advanced ARDS is booked on 01243 755073, and corporate groups use the enquiry form.
  • Track day noise limits: on a 105 dB day the static test is 105 dB at 0.5 m and three quarters of maximum revs with a 101 dB drive by limit; on a 98 dB day the drive by limit is 96 dB. Standard diesels and most modern petrol cars suit the 98 dB day, supercars and historic cars go on the 105 dB day, and a free noise test can be booked beforehand on 01243 755093. Every car is noise tested on arrival and a car that fails does not go out. A vehicle preparation guide is linked from the track days page.
  • Spectators: family and friends are welcome at every experience, cameras included, with dogs on a lead; tea and barista coffee is served at the venue and the Motor Circuit Cafe and Aerodrome Cafe are nearby for food.
