Circuit de Reims-Gueux

Gueux, FranceOpen 24 hours

Overview

A former public-road Grand Prix circuit first used in 1926, Reims‑Gueux retains pits, grandstands and concrete buildings that tell the story of mid‑20th century motor racing. Local heritage groups manage restoration and occasional events, and the site is listed as French historic heritage.

Visitors walk and photograph surviving structures along sections of the old D27 race line, read interpretive panels installed by preservation associations, and combine a visit with nearby Champagne attractions in the Reims area.

What to Expect

You’ll walk around an open, partly restored racing complex and see original pits, grandstand concretework and small interpretive panels describing the circuit’s history.

On-site highlights:

  • Walk accessible remains of the pit buildings and paddock area; parts are fenced for preservation.
  • View the concrete grandstand ruins and race-line through the surrounding countryside along the D27.
  • Read interpretive panels and occasional temporary exhibits organised by the local association.
  • Spot restoration work and informational signage from Les Passionnés du Circuit de Gueux; volunteers may be present during events.

Best way to experience it: Arrive by car from Reims, allow 45–90 minutes for a walk and photos, and combine with a visit to the local Musée or Champagne houses nearby. Check the local association’s calendar if you want guided tours or event days.

Things to Note

  • Site is largely outdoors and partly fenced; wear sturdy shoes for uneven concrete and grass.
  • Limited visitor facilities on-site; nearest services in Reims (10–15 minutes by car).
  • Access and signage vary; park safely off the D27 and respect fenced restoration zones.
  • Events and guided visits are occasional—confirm dates via the local preservation association.
