Circuit de Croix-en-Ternois Track Days
Overview
Circuit de Croix-en-Ternois runs its own track days for cars and motorbikes on its 2 km circuit in the Pas-de-Calais, between Arras and Le Touquet-Paris-Plage. The headline product is the Essais Libres Auto, a Sunday open session where you bring your own car and run in groups alongside saloons, hot hatches, GTs and single seaters. The Club VIP Auto on Wednesdays is the smaller version for GT, single seater and prototype owners.
Motorbikes get their own days: Essais Libres Moto on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays with riders grouped by lap time, a Wednesday Club Loisir Moto with a state certified coach for first timers and gentleman riders, and a Croix Kids Academy that puts children on supplied small bikes.
The circuit opened in May 1973, was the first in France to join the European Formula 3 championship and still hosts car and bike competitions. The restaurant Le 73 takes its name from the founding year. It suits owners who want a full day of seat time in their own car on a proper race circuit.
What to Expect
- Essais Libres Auto, Sundays: your own car on the circuit for the whole day, running in one of four groups: saloons (Clio, 205, Golf, Civic), sports saloons (MX-5, Fiesta ST, Megane RS, Golf GTI), GTs (Porsche 911 and Cayman, Mustang, Alpine A110, Nissan GT-R, Supra) and single seaters, prototypes and open cars. The circuit adjusts session length on the day to suit the field.
- Club VIP Auto, Wednesdays: the same circuit for GT, single seater and prototype owners only, a smaller field with breakfast at the restaurant and a drink with the other drivers at midday.
- You drive, nobody else: the circuit lends no cars, sells no passenger rides and puts no instructor in your seat.
- Bikes: Essais Libres Moto on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays, grouped by lap time from beginners over 1 minute 10 to experts under the minute. A transponder is lent free and your times land in the Quick Racing app.
- Club Loisir Moto, Wednesdays: a Grands Débutants group capped at 15 riders with Rodrigue, a state certified FFM coach, and a Gentlemen Riders group of up to 30 with more sessions and coaching advice. A Wednesday Groupe Maîtrise works on slalom, braking and cornering on the training area for adults and for children who have done the discovery course.
- Croix Kids Academy: an afternoon of theory and paddock workshops for children, run with GP Park, with a bike and protective gear supplied to fit the child.
- Off track: the terrace looks over the whole circuit. Le 73 does French cooking, the friterie covers the gaps between sessions and the bar is open all day.
