2027 MotoGP Grand Prix of Italy

Mugello Circuit · Scarperia e San Piero, Italy28–30 May 20273 days

About This Event

MotoGP's deputy chief executive Carlos Ezpeleta calls Mugello "one of the spiritual homes of MotoGP". The 5.245 km track climbs and drops through the hills north of Florence, and the grass meadow around it fills with tents, campers and motorbikes from the Thursday before the race.

What to Expect

  • Mugello is round 8 of 22 in 2027, the first season of what MotoGP calls a new era with new bikes, two weeks after Le Mans and two weeks before Barcelona.
  • On track running is Friday to Sunday. In 2026 three day tickets opened the gates from 3pm on the Thursday, two day tickets from 9pm Friday and Sunday tickets from 9pm Saturday, so most of the crowd arrives the night before its first day. The 2027 timetable and support classes are not yet announced by the organiser.
  • The track has 14 named corners: San Donato at the end of the main straight is the slowest, Poggio Secco is the highest point, Arrabbiata 1 the lowest and Bucine the longest.
  • In 2026 every grandstand was numbered with a big screen in front of it, and four were covered: Poltronissima, Silver Pit Lane, Biondetti and Bronze. The others were Poggiosecco, Materassi, Materassi Laterale, Correntaio and Tribuna 58.

Best Way to Experience It

  • The three day ticket is the one that covers Thursday arrival, camping on the prato and all three days. Daily Friday or Saturday tickets ran 8am to 6pm in 2026 with no overnight stay.
  • Friday practice leaves time to walk the prato between corners and pick a spot for the Sunday race before the biggest crowd arrives.
  • A grandstand ticket also opens the Prato Night & Day meadow, and in 2026 that was the only area open to stand holders between 7pm and 8am, when the stands closed.
  • Prato 58 and Tribuna 58 at the Arrabbiata corners are reached only through the Arrabbiata entrance. In 2026 Prato 58 opened at 8am on the Sunday and its holders could not enter Prato Night & Day.
  • Entrances by area in 2026: Palagio for Poltronissima, Silver Pit Lane, Biondetti and Bronze, Luco for Poggiosecco, Materassi and Materassi Laterale, Scarperia for Correntaio, and Palagio, Scarperia or Luco for Prato Night & Day.

Good to Know

  • Driving: The circuit is north of Florence near Scarperia. Cars are not allowed inside the circuit and no grandstand ticket includes parking inside. In 2026 paid car parks ran outside the circuit along Viale Dante (SP 503), Viale Matteotti, Viale dell'Autodromo, Via della Resistenza, Via Pian della Donna and Via Figliano, with separate motorbike areas. 2027 parking is not yet announced.
  • Public transport: The nearest stations are Borgo San Lorenzo and San Piero a Sieve, on the regional line from Firenze Santa Maria Novella. Extra trains and station shuttles for 2027 are not yet announced by the organiser.
  • Rideshare and taxis: Uber operates in Florence. No rideshare drop off or pick up point at the circuit is published for 2027.
  • Best value route: Without a car, the regional train from Firenze Santa Maria Novella to Borgo San Lorenzo or San Piero a Sieve is the only published public route. The last leg to the gates is to be confirmed for 2027.
  • Gates and reentry: Ticket offices in 2026 were at the Palagio, Luco and Scarperia entrances from 3pm Thursday until the end of the event, and at Arrabbiata from 7am to 6pm Friday to Sunday. Each ticket allowed leaving and coming back in twice per day, and a third exit voided it.
  • Tickets: General admission was from €24 (about US$28) in 2026. 2027 prices are not yet announced. In 2026 tickets were sold through TicketOne online, at TicketOne sales points and by phone on 892101, and at the gate ticket offices while they lasted, with cash and cards accepted.
  • Camping: In 2026 a tent could be pitched anywhere on the prato at no extra cost. Campers needed a camper ticket on top of a ticket for every person inside, entered only through Luco or Palagio, and had water filling and discharge points near the toilets but no power. Small generators, petrol cans and camping stoves were allowed, glass was not.
  • Getting home: In 2026 campers were asked not to leave before 8pm on the Sunday so pedestrians, motorbikes and smaller vehicles get out first.

Is This Event Right For You?

  • Suitable for kids? In 2026 children under 15 years of age paid €1 per day on the prato, bought together with at least one full price or reduced adult ticket, and grandstand junior prices followed the grandstand price list. Young people aged 16 to 18 years got a reduced price everywhere except Poltronissima, Silver and Biondetti.
  • Hate crowds? The crowd builds through the weekend. In 2026 the organiser counted 33,048 people on Friday, 57,050 on Saturday and 88,625 on Sunday.
  • Want to camp? Tent camping came with the weekend ticket in 2026: the full pass ran from Thursday with camping inside the circuit until the Tuesday after the race, and the camping park had toilets and barbecue areas.
  • Hoping for paddock access? The circuit did not sell paddock passes to fans in 2026. Its own Hospitality Gold, Hospitality Platinum and Lounge packages are the paid step up from a grandstand.
