2027 MotoGP Grand Prix of the Netherlands
About This Event
Assen is the longest serving venue in MotoGP, with a Grand Prix held here every year since the world championship began in 1949, apart from 2020. The TT Circuit is narrow and quick, 4.54 km of rapid direction changes with grass banks and grandstands wrapped around the lap.
What to Expect
- MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 all race at Assen, with the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and the Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup on the support bill.
- 2027 is the first season of MotoGP's new weekend format: the Sprint and the Grand Prix each get their own qualifying session and their own grid.
- The MotoGP Grand Prix is 26 laps and 118.09 km, Moto2 runs 24 laps and Moto3 22 laps.
- The lap has 18 corners, 12 right handers and 6 left handers, and the longest straight is only 487 m.
Best Way to Experience It
- Friday has MotoGP's 45 minute FP1, a 30 minute FP2 and the new 15 minute Sprint qualifying, which sets the grid for Saturday's Sprint.
- Saturday has a 20 minute FP3, GP Qualifying 1 and 2 for Sunday's grid, then the Tissot Sprint in the afternoon.
- Sunday opens with the Moto3 and Moto2 races. There is no MotoGP warm up from 2027: the pit lane opens for 10 minutes of sighting laps, then the Grand Prix starts.
Good to Know
- Driving: TT Circuit Assen is right by the A28 at De Haar 9, 9405 TE Assen. The circuit names exit 31A Assen Zuid from Zwolle or Hoogeveen and exit 32 Assen from Groningen, and its largest paved car park is at the Noordlus entrance. In 2026 traffic marshals sent TT traffic to set car parks, car parks opened at 06:00 on Sunday, exit 31a was closed to traffic from the north, and motorbikes from the A28 and N33 used their own exit 32 on Saturday and Sunday. 2027 parking prices and routes are not yet announced by the organiser.
- Public transport: Trains run to Assen station, where city bus line 1 goes to the circuit stop on Jack Middelburgplein on the north side. On TT weekend shuttle buses run between the station and the Noordlus entrance, and both buses take an OV chipkaart or a bank card tap. In 2026 the shuttles ran every 5 minutes.

- Best value route: Train to Assen station then the TT shuttle or bus line 1 is the way in without a car: the shuttle runs to the Noordlus entrance and skips the event traffic routing on the A28.
- Tickets: 2027 tickets are not on sale yet and prices are not yet announced by the organiser. The circuit lists three 2027 VIP packages: MotoGP VIP Village, Haarbocht Lounge and Legends Club.
- Gates and reentry: Under TT Circuit Assen's ticket terms a ticket loses its validity once the holder leaves the site, ID must be shown on request and staff can carry out body searches.
- Bringing things in: The ticket terms ban alcohol, drugs, weapons and drinks in glass.
