2027 MotoGP Grand Prix of Austria
About This Event
The Red Bull Ring lap has 10 corners, and the MotoGP layout carries a chicane at Turn 2 because riders once reached Turn 3 at almost 300 km/h. The track climbs and drops 65 metres across a hillside in the Styrian Murtal, with inclines up to 12 percent.
What to Expect
- MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 all race at Spielberg. In 2026 Friday was practice, Saturday was qualifying and the MotoGP Sprint, and Sunday carried the three Grand Prix races. The 2027 timetable is not yet announced by the organiser.
- Seven of the 10 turns are right handers. The named corners are the Niki Lauda Turn (Turn 1), the Münzer Chicane (Turn 2), the Interwetten Turn (Turn 3), the Rauch Turn (Turn 4), the Graz Turn (Turn 7) and the Jochen Rindt Turn (Turn 9), and the lap record is 1:29.519, set by Francesco Bagnaia in 2024.
- Race Sunday drew nearly 50,000 people in 2026 and the Saturday Sprint around 30,000.
- The 2027 round moves to late August, a few weeks earlier than the September 2026 date. August at nearby Zeltweg averages highs of about 23°C and lows of about 11°C, with rain on around 12 days of the month.
Best Way to Experience It
- The 2027 ticket shop sells General Admission plus seats in five grandstands: Start-Ziel on the start finish straight, Steiermark, Red Bull, Nord, and T10 at Turn 10, the last corner.
- MotoGP Premier packages for 2027 add access on top of a ticket. Rider, Trophy and Chicane run Friday to Sunday with a three day grandstand ticket and a guided track or paddock tour. The VIP Village and Apex packages run Saturday and Sunday and include a Pit Lane Walk. Prices are given on request through MotoGP Premier.
