2026 NASCAR Cup Series Championship
About This Event
All three NASCAR national champions are crowned on one weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway, and on Sunday the Cup Series title goes to whichever Chase driver leaves the 267 lap race with the most points. The Truck Series title is settled on Friday night and the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series title on Saturday evening.
What to Expect
- The track goes live on Thursday evening with Truck Series practice. Friday runs Truck qualifying at 2:30pm, O'Reilly Auto Parts Series practice at 4:00pm and Cup Series practice at 5:30pm, then the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Championship race at 7:30pm over 134 laps (201 miles).
- Saturday has qualifying for the O'Reilly and Cup Series from 1:00pm, the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series Championship race at 5:00pm over 200 laps (300 miles), and a post race concert by Orlando Mendez from 8:00pm to 9:30pm at the NASCAR Experience.
- Sunday builds from a pre race concert at 1:00pm and Cup driver introductions at 2:15pm to the green flag at 3:00pm: 267 laps (400.5 miles), with stages ending at laps 80 and 165. After the Truck race on Friday and the Cup race on Sunday, the new champion celebrates by Crossover Gates 1 and 3.
- The Cup title is decided on points across the 10 race Chase: 16 drivers, no eliminations and no points reset before Homestead, with a race win worth 55 points. The driver with the most points at the flag is champion.
- The Fan Zone opens on Friday at 2:00pm, and the title contenders in each series do a Q&A: Truck on Friday at 5:00pm, O'Reilly on Saturday at 2:30pm and Cup on Sunday at 12:30pm.
Best Way to Experience It
- Friday and Saturday carry Cup practice and qualifying, so the 3 Day grandstand ticket, which covers all three championship races, puts the Cup cars on track in front of you every day. A Sunday only ticket covers the Cup race.
- Five grandstands line the frontstretch and both ends: Turn 1, Frontstretch West, Start/Finish, Frontstretch East and Turn 4. Speedway Terrace, above the frontstretch grandstands looking down on the start/finish line, is sold out.
- The Pre-Race Pass, needed at every age, is the add on for the ceremonies before the green flag, Cup driver introductions included. NASCAR ONE Fueled by Elevate goes further, with garage tours, pit road entry and meet and greets.
- Scanner rentals carry the live race radio feed or a single team's channel, and the Scanner and DRIVE features in the NASCAR Tracks app only work at the track.
Good to Know
- Driving: The speedway is south of Miami. SW 336th Street leads to Gates A and B and the main lots (Lots 0 to 4 and Tower VIP), and Alex Muxo Jr. Boulevard reaches Gate D and Lot 8. There is no free parking: passes are sold through the speedway's Ticketmaster parking page, and the lots open at 12:00pm Friday, 10:00am Saturday and 8:00am Sunday. Free trams run from the Park and Ride Lot beside Credentials and Shipping to Gate A.
- Public transport: The speedway publishes no train, bus or event shuttle service for the weekend.
- Rideshare and taxis: Uber and Lyft both operate in Miami. The rideshare drop off is near Lot 8, by Gate D off Alex Muxo Jr. Boulevard.
- Best value route: Rideshare to the Lot 8 drop off is the only way in without a car that the speedway publishes, and it skips the parking charge.
- Gates and reentry: Spectator gates open at 2:00pm Friday, 12:30pm Saturday and 10:00am Sunday. Reentry works only when the ticket is scanned out at the gate on the way out.
- Bringing things in: Up to two bags each, no bigger than 18 by 18 by 14 inches, plus one soft sided cooler up to 14 by 14 by 14 inches with sealed food and drink (alcohol included) and ice. Glass, hard or foam coolers, dry ice, collapsible chairs, tripods, selfie sticks and drones are not allowed; seat cushions without metal parts and insulated cups up to 64 oz are. Alcohol bought inside cannot leave the gates.
- Cash and cards: All food, drink, ticket and merchandise sales are cashless. Food vendors are on the Midway, and Loaded Coolers (beer or Coca-Cola packs in a NASCAR cooler) are pre ordered online, one per person.
- Camping: Move in starts Tuesday 3 November. Reserved RV sites are 20 by 50 feet for one RV and one vehicle, the unreserved RV park has shower access, and tent sites are about 20 by 30 feet with no hookups. Turn 2 Premium RV has a waitlist and the Infield Tailgate is sold out. Overnight parking outside the campgrounds is not allowed.

Is This Event Right For You?
- Suitable for kids? Children 12 and under need their own ticket, and even a free general admission ticket carries a barcode. General admission is free at that age on Friday and Saturday, Sunday Cup seats have youth pricing, and a free ID wristband is available. The LEGO City NASCAR Kids Zone in the Fan Zone (games, face painting, racing simulators) is free with admission, and the speedway strongly recommends earplugs or noise cancelling headphones for kids.
- Worried about rain? If weather moves a race to another date, unused regular grandstand tickets for it can be exchanged for a future NASCAR race within 60 days. There are no cash refunds, and delays (even past midnight) and weather shortened races that count as official are not covered.
- Need accessible access? Accessible parking is in Lot 5 and is bought by phone. Free assistance carts take one guest to the admission gate nearest their seat, all restrooms are wheelchair accessible, and after the race the carts can take 30 to 45 minutes to start while foot traffic clears.
