2026 Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix
Mogyoród, Pest, Hungary2026-07-24 to 2026-07-26
About This Event
F1's first race behind the Iron Curtain, held at the Hungaroring since 1986 — a 4.4km, 14-turn permanent circuit built in eight months on the outskirts of Budapest. Nicknamed "Monaco without the barriers" for its tight, technical layout with significant elevation changes and corners that are often blind or off-camber.
What to Expect
With just one straight, overtaking can be difficult, so Turn 1 is where the vast majority of passes take place
Teams opt for Monaco levels of downforce, with a well-sorted chassis rewarded over horsepower
Built in a natural bowl, most grandstands and general admission areas offer views of multiple corners
General admission provides access to grassy elevated areas mainly between Turn 7 and the finish line
Six drivers scored their first career wins at this track
Best Way to Experience It
Turn 1 grandstands sit where most memorable moments have occurred since 1986, where most passes take place
Arrive at least 45 minutes before gates open to claim prime general admission spots near the fence
Super Gold is the only covered grandstand at the Hungaroring, good for staying out of hot summer sun
Good to Know
Free parking available for all ticket holders on first-come basis in P1, P2 or P3 areas
Free shuttle buses run from Kerepes HEV station to Gate 3 at the Hungaroring
Children under 14 receive free general admission access with a paying adult
July brings hot summer weather; rain has only occurred twice in entire F1 history here
Bring folding chair or picnic blanket for uneven grass slopes; little shade around circuit
