2026 Attack Tsukuba

Tsukuba Circuit · Shimotsuma, Japan14 Feb 2026Full day

About This Event

Japan's largest time attack event, held at Tsukuba Circuit's 2.045km Course 2000 since 2013. Over 170 modified cars compete across multiple sessions for the fastest lap times, with classes spanning turbo, naturally-aspirated and ladies divisions. Cold morning conditions and the 437m back straight favour high-power builds chasing outright pace.

What to Expect

  • Fifteen classes compete including a new S2000 class debuting in 2026
  • Super Lap session limits two cars on track at once for fastest competitors
  • Compact circuit lets spectators view almost the entire course from various vantage points
  • General admission excludes Paddock A until morning Super Lap concludes
  • Track features wide sweepers, hairpins, and technical corner variety

Best Way to Experience It

  • First hairpin grandstand seats 307 spectators overlooking technical infield sections
  • First hairpin grandstand offers best action view covering nearly entire infield

Good to Know

  • General admission begins 7am with entry charged at 2000 yen
  • High school students and younger enter free with valid identification
  • On-site parking charged separately for four-wheel and two-wheel vehicles
  • Paddock area features narrow walkways with complex traffic flow patterns
  • Public transport access limited to lengthy taxi rides from nearest station

Is This Event Right For You?

  • Best fit if you're into competitive lap timing — Japan's largest time attack event with 170+ cars competing for lap records across multiple sessions, Super Lap sessions bookend the day, serious competition atmosphere focused on shaving tenths.
  • Best fit if you value motorsport heritage — 14th annual running at 2.045km Course 2000, Japan's time attack holy land since 1970s, morning drivers' meeting ceremony on home straight tradition continued since 2013 founding, Mount Tsukuba backdrop.
  • Best fit if you enjoy hands-on track activities — ¥2,000 spectator entry grants pit area access, watch teams prep between sessions, talk directly with drivers and tuners, witness technical setup changes, enthusiast-focused atmosphere prioritizes community over entertainment spectacle.
  • Not ideal if you prefer spectator-focused motorsport events — event prioritizes drivers and team members rather than general audience, no dedicated grandstand seating or designated viewing areas, spectator amenities limited compared to entertainment-focused race weekends.
